Blog Hoppin'-Where Tuesday

Today was the 7th day of school. I am T.I.R.E.D.!! When will I get back in the swing of things?? Although I am exhausted, I enjoy teaching my new 19 babies. The kiddos are sweet.  They are liking our new Reading Street program. I am liking it too! :)

Where do I work?
I'm a first grade teacher at New Albany Elementary. There's 1,100 students in our prek-5th grade building.

Our school was built in 2001. I student taught the year it opened. My classroom is the same room I student taught in. Isn't that cool?? Here's a peek in my room.

My room is pretty big AND I have a bathroom in it. I've been in this room 8 years. It feels like home.

Sunday Morning Letters Linky

I survived the first week of school! WooHoo!! By Friday, I was a little tired. No. A LOT tired! This photo is so true!

This girl right here loves her summers! But I love having a schedule even more. Did I really say that?? It's true. I function better when there's organization in my life! With all that being said, I'm glad to be back at school.

Big Time Literacy is having a Sunday morning letters linky party. Although it's 2:40pm, I'm still going to link up. It's a really cute idea! Michelle, I hope you don't mind that I'm late to the party!
Jessica blogged about this TPT sticky note freebie that goes along great with the linky. You can grab it here

My school has needed a new reading program for a few years. The district purchased Reading Street. We begin implementing it tomorrow! I'm excited! If you have any suggestions to give on how Reading Street works in your room, please let me know!

Ready or not, here they come!

As I drove home today, I realized the next time I see my classroom, it will be full of new faces. I think I am ready!
Anybody out there using Reading Street? Do you like it? Tonight, I've been looking for materials that other teachers use to enhance the curriculum.  Yep it's Friday night and I am working on school stuff.  I guess that's just what we do! :)
I printed these cute story elements from Teaching with Hope. She's very talented! Several co-workers kept saying how cute they are.  I. Love. Them! It's exactly what I needed to replace my old posters! Check it out here.

Happy Friday!!

I am linking up with Mrs. Jump's Class for her Tuesday linky. This week she posted a cute activity! She's so crafty!

I have been reading The Patriarchs by Beth Moore. Before now,I have never read a book by her. It's really great! This book is a 10 week bible study. A group of ladies from my church get together once a week to talk about it. I have enjoyed it sooo much!
My little boy is reading Cam Jansen for his summer reading project.  We have not started reading this book yet.  We will definitely get started tomorrow.  Although I haven't read it yet, it looks to be really good.   Guess I shouldn't be judging a book by its cover hmmm...

I finally saw one today. A Back To School commercial.  Oh. My. Word! All I could think of was this...

I hope all of you teachers in Vegas are having a great time!

Five for Friday Summer Style

This week is our first week of summer break! Since my church had Vacation Bible School every morning, I haven't truly started my break. I look forward to sleeping late tomorrow for the first time! Well, until my six month old decides it's time for mommy to get up!
http://doodlebugsteaching.blogspot.com/
One-My little boy celebrated his 7th birthday party at the spray park. It was fun!
Two-As mentioned above, we had VBS for the children at our church. I taught 13 first grade boys. Students and teachers had fun!
Three-I requested to have our reading loft torn down since it's creaky. Honestly, last year it was "The catch all". It's bitter sweet because each year on meet the teacher night, my old students come back just to play in the reading loft. It's like a tradition.
Four-I am attending a LETRS training on Thursday and Friday. I have to do an online training before attending the workshop.  I heard from a coworker that the training is 20 hours! I received my registration information today so I just signed up.  Guess I better get busy!
Five-Last but not least, today is day 8 of my summer break!

Link up and tell us about your week at Doodle Bugs Teaching!

Happy Mother's Day and May Freebie Linky

This morning, we dedicated our baby, Noah, at church along with 14 other mothers. It was sweet! Before we walked on stage, Noah was fussy. Since he refuses to take a paci, I knew I had to take a bottle but where would I put it?? Then it hit me! I could use my husband's pocket as a baby bag. I stuffed a bib and bottle in there. You do what cha got to do! Oh well, it worked!
My boys brought me breakfast in bed. Nothing beats a pop tart and juice box made from your kiddos.

I'm linking up with Teacher's Take Out for a May Freebie Linky.
