Today was the 7th day of school. I am T.I.R.E.D.!! When will I get back in the swing of things?? Although I am exhausted, I enjoy teaching my new 19 babies. The kiddos are sweet. They are liking our new Reading Street program. I am liking it too! :)
Where do I work?
I'm a first grade teacher at New Albany Elementary. There's 1,100 students in our prek-5th grade building.
Our school was built in 2001. I student taught the year it opened. My classroom is the same room I student taught in. Isn't that cool?? Here's a peek in my room.
My room is pretty big AND I have a bathroom in it. I've been in this room 8 years. It feels like home.

Sunday Morning Letters Linky
I survived the first week of school! WooHoo!! By Friday, I was a little tired. No. A LOT tired! This photo is so true!
This girl right here loves her summers! But I love having a schedule even more. Did I really say that?? It's true. I function better when there's organization in my life! With all that being said, I'm glad to be back at school.
Jessica blogged about this TPT sticky note freebie that goes along great with the linky. You can grab it here.
My school has needed a new reading program for a few years. The district purchased Reading Street. We begin implementing it tomorrow! I'm excited! If you have any suggestions to give on how Reading Street works in your room, please let me know!

Ready or not, here they come!
As I drove home today, I realized the next time I see my classroom, it will be full of new faces. I think I am ready!
Anybody out there using Reading Street? Do you like it? Tonight, I've been looking for materials that other teachers use to enhance the curriculum. Yep it's Friday night and I am working on school stuff. I guess that's just what we do! :)
Happy Friday!!

I printed these cute story elements from Teaching with Hope. She's very talented! Several co-workers kept saying how cute they are. I. Love. Them! It's exactly what I needed to replace my old posters! Check it out here.
Happy Friday!!

One more day of professional development...and a FREEBIE!
I have one more work day left to get my room completely ready for my 1st grade kiddos. Who are we kidding?? I'm pretty sure I will be at school on Saturday...possibly Sunday afternoon. I have to admit, I am getting excited to begin school!
This year, I have been asked to have an inclusion classroom. Although I've never done this before, I'm up for the challenge!
I made these labels to use in my classroom. It was my first attempt at an editable project. Click on the pic if you would like to check it out. Enjoy!
